Inn’Ovations 2019 contest: Sirea nominated for its self-consumption solution with hydrogen storage

On the occasion of the Occitanie Innov show where we were present Thursday, January 31, the agency in charge of the economic development of the Occitanie region (AD’OCC) announced the nominees of this 38th edition of the contest Les Inn’Ovations.

Already winner of the regional call for projects “Self-consumption of photovoltaic electricity 2018” and rewarded at the forum Energaïa at the end of the year, our solution of self-consumption with hydrogen storage, coupled with batteries of second life, was one of the projects nominated. Congratulations to the winners and all the other nominees!

In 2015, Sirea was awarded in the “Innovation & International” category of the contest and was able to benefit from the support of the region and the Madeeli agency to develop its activity. Today, the spinoffs of this regional award, in addition to this new nomination this year, encourage us to continue in our approach of continuous innovation.

Engineer at Sirea, Théo sets a cabinet assembly workshop for ITC students

Return on Théo’s experience, who, from Rouen to Phnom Penh, passing by Castres, became an engineer in electricity and sustainable development at Sirea.

Théo Rioux, 23 years old and graduate engineer from ESIGELEC in Rouen, is currently in Phnom Penh as part of the partnership signed between the Cambodia Institute of Technology and Sirea. Its mission within the university is to deploy an assembly workshop of electrical cabinets for the realization of practical work in real conditions for the students of the university.

Last month, Theo came back to this mission in an interview in Phnom Penh:

This room equipped with powerful equipment provided by Sirea will allow, through the presence and support of Theo, the implementation of practical work on our PLCs MicroARM range.

These practical exercises will also allow students to program the automatons through the following software infrastructures:

At ITC, the other missions of Theo are linked to this new practical workshop: he provides support during training sessions in which various technical aspects related to automation and industrial electricity are discussed. A fruitful collaboration that should continue in 2019.

  • Launch of the new free simulator Autoconsommation.eco

Launch of the new free simulator Autoconsommation.eco

Lauched on Monday 17 September, the Autoconsommation.eco platform is now accessible to all.

This new free online service helps individuals and professionals who use a self-consumption photovoltaic system to improve their energy efficiency and to make better use of their own production of electricity.

Total expertise, from A to Z

Developed internally, this online platform combines our years of expertise in the energy sector with our knowledge of web technologies which are offered in a number of our solutions. This new site is simulates a photovoltaic system, enabling users to compare energy usage profiles and to estimate the ideal battery capacity to achieve optimum energy efficiency. No need to spend time on complex calculations in an attempt to work out how to spread out energy consumption to make self-consumption cost-effective : the algorithm designed by Sirea does the job based on simple data (power of the installation, annual consumption, etc.)!

“In just a few clicks, you fill in the fields to establish your energy usage profile and the system offers you the best solutions to spread out your energy consumption. It’s very affordable ! »

    Bruno Bouteille, CEO of Sirea

    Time-saving for installers

This tool will enable many PV system installers to save time when calculating the size of their customers’ systems. An improved version of the platform is being prepared; professionals will be able to create quotes directly using the platform. Simulations created using the site Autoconsommation.eco can already be exported and shared, which will help professionals to save time when it comes to analysis work.

    Sirea contributes to Innofab’s development

Since its launch in 2015, Sirea has contributed actively to the development of Innofab, in the heart of the Castres-Mazamet area.

    What is Innofab?

    Electronic components in Innofab
    Electronic components in Innofab

Innofab is an organisation which is open to everyone (individuals, students, professionals, entrepreneurs), allowing members to use all the available machines to produce unique items (3D printers, 3Dscanner, laser cutter, vinyl printer/cutter) to bring different projects to fruition. It doesn’t stop there: it also provides training on each tool for users. The “Do It Yourself” spirit is key at this young, dynamic company! Its partners include:

    • BeProject
    • Pierre Fabre
    • CCI du Tarn
    • Castres-Mazamet Technopole
    • IUT Castres
    • Sirea

    How does Sirea support Innofab?

Sirea’s desire to help was clear. We share the same values, based on partnerships and the development of local activity. Our region is home to a number of innovative, dynamic companies which must be promoted.

In this spirit, Sylvain Robison, Head of Sales at Sirea, was elected as Vice President and is responsible for external company relations at Innofab.

A report on attending the EnerGaïa trade show

The 11th edition of the EnerGaïa forum was held in Montpellier’s Parc des Expositions and welcomed more than a hundred exhibitors, including Sirea.

For researchers, the development of the renewable energy sector on the African continent, particularly in Benin, must involve continued research work which takes into account the constraints and needs of local circumstances.

This is why Sirea, a company which is heavily invested in the development of this ambitious project which is unlike any other in Western Africa, has offered its support by offering to equip the PIE laboratory with equipment and software for inspecting, monitoring and managing energy. In this way, Sirea hopes to contribute to strengthening the research activities of the PIE laboratory within the energy sector, which are specific to African pressures and constraints.

*Ansole is an association which aims to boost renewable energy research, education and professional training, with a particular focus on Africa.
