Thursday, October 10, Sirea was near Saint-Nazaire, in Trignac, for the inauguration of the new self-consumption facility of the Gémo store.
As part of its CSR approach, the clothes company has embarked on an innovative and pioneering project in its sector, by associating with its new photovoltaic shadehouse a storage facility; which is a second life battery from electric vehicles developed by SNAM. The conversion and control system designed by Sirea through its AEH cabinet now provides 40% of the electricity consumption of the store.

In 2017, Sirea won the first edition of the EDF Pulse Occitania competition, organized by the world’s second largest electricity supplier. Aiming to highlight the innovations of innovative SMEs and startups from french regions, EDF had awarded to Sirea the place of finalist.

2 years later, with this nomination and reward for the SESAME project, several collaborations between Sirea and the subsidiaries of the EDF group were born.
Facilitate energy audits for Dalkia
Recognized during this competition, the project SESAME aims to facilitate the energy audits carried out by Dalkia. By solving the problem of the disparity of data collected and aggregated, we have made available to the subsidiary of EDF a tool of supervision giving meaning to the gathered data.
Optimizing energy efficiency alongside EDF R&D
The job of electrician, pillar of our activities, and the management of energy, essential link of our expertise, has always been a considerable asset in our various collaborations, whether with EDF or Enedis. In the case of EDF, this know-how and the seriousness demonstrated with Dalkia allowed us in 2017 to come to support the R&D branch of EDF in the design of the energy manager as it is industrialised today: the SmartEMS. Innovative by its intelligence, this new Generation energy manager is now piloting many self-consumption installations for EDF customers, individuals and professionals.
Augmented consignment in hydropower
More recently during 2018’ summer, we collaborated with the hydroelectric power station of Truel in Aveyron, as part of an experimentation of augmented reality for consignment. The augmented consignment project, currently in the testing phase, was a considerable opportunity since we were able to present it at the Electric Days in Paris, which gave a massive visibility to the concept and the technology used.
In 2019, Sirea extended its collaborations with EDF and regularly met the invitations of the various subsidiaries on the events, meetings and trade shows of the energy sector. For the launch of the EDF Pulse 2019 competition, we propose to discover the video teaser published by EDF:

It is a collaboration between Tarn and Aveyron that was born last year, with a common goal: to accelerate the energy transition of the territory by combining their know-how in the electricity trades and in the control of energy.
Based in Versols-et-Lapeyre (Aveyron), “la Compagnie des Artisans Associés” is involved in photovoltaic projects and associates with Sirea to integrate energy management solutions such as our self-consumption cabinets. By associating itself with this type of project, our technicians and engineers respond by custom-made solutions to the constraints of each project, requiring or not a re-injection on the grid.

This type of realisation allows many dwellings and infrastructure called “off-grid” (outside the power grid) to finally have access to electricity, and what is more, of renewable origin! This is the case in particular for this couple living in Aveyron, who could switch to self-consumption for their building cut off from the conventional grid, and that they have just renovated.
Thus, the professionals and individuals of Tarn and Aveyron, or more widely in Occitania region, can trust the expertise of local SMEs if they wish to turn to renewable energies.
In the last few days, the hydroelectric power plant of Truel in Aveyron has been experimenting with a new solution dedicated to the consignment of machines.
Augmented consignment application for EDF Hydro
Phase 1 of the Augmented Consignment project, which is currently being deployed at the EDF Plant group in Pouget, has recently moved to the field experimentation phase in order to help the technicians and operators with the new features that this custom-built tool can offer.
For a few days, the EDF teams that have not collaborated directly on the project will be invited to take control of the tool in order to identify possible optimizations to allow to refine the application.
New improvements are expected to take more benefit from image recognition and augmented reality.

As part of our participation in the exhibition Futurapolis organised by the magazine Le Point and where we will be present Friday the 16th of November, we were invited to present our latest innovations in the field of the augmented reality applied to the industry, in the show “9h50 Le Matin” on France 3 Occitania. Answering questions from Mickaël Potot, host of the show, David Grand presented in few words the latest innovations developed by Sirea for both individuals and professionals.
At the beginning of the month, Sirea went to Amsterdam with Enedis to present its OMERE solution at European Utility Week 2017, which was held between 3-5 October.
This presentation in the Netherlands, with Enedis’ support, was an opportunity for Sirea and its Spanish subsidiary iAR to showcase their expertise in augmented reality solutions for the industrial sector.
The OMERE solution, which is slowly being adopted in various regional offices of Enedis, is now one of the tools of the technician 3.0. We no longer talk about the technician of tomorrow, but rather the technician “of today”, taking advantage of augmented reality technology with image recognition to make maintenance operations more secure and convenient.

EDF Pulse 2017 contest finalists
In the “Innovative Service” category, Sirea presented its project to measure and analyze the energy consumption of buildings, called SESAME (Smart and Efficient Solutions to Analyse and Measure Energy). The project was selected for the final round which took place Thursday, February 23 in Toulouse.

Sirea was awarded for its project, OMERE, with the second prize, and thus various proposals to qualify for the finals to be held in late November in Paris, where it will compete with the 3 winners of the 8 themes within the contest. Only 4 among 24 finalists finally awarded in Paris. Good luck, team!
This contest, organized by ERDF in collaboration with the France Smart Grids Interpole (which brings together 10 groups whose mission is to accompany and promote the Smart Grids industrial sector in France), is part of the initiative dedicated to Smart Grids which is among the 34 Plans of the New Industrial France launched by the Government in 2013. This project proposes the implementation of actions that are designed to consolidate the French electrical and computer sectors into new markets with high growth and creators of new jobs.
