    Sirea develops its prediction server using NeurEco software

    Nowadays, artificial intelligence software and tools are constantly advancing and are being used in more and more fields every day. It seemed only natural that Sirea should integrate and test the interest of using artificial intelligence to improve the performance of its energy control models. R&D work has therefore been carried out and has brought us to create a prediction server using the NeurEco software. NeurEco facilitates the development of predictive models, the curved widget of the new MicroSERVER interface materializing the results obtained.

    Adagos is a Toulouse-based company founded in 2011 by Mohamed Masmoudi and has been working jointly with Sirea since January 2022. Adagos has developed a new type of AI software integrating the NeurEco generator. NeurEco is a tool for generating parsimonious models that improve the accuracy of quantitative predictions while limiting the amount of data needed to build the models. Less data used implies less computing power and less energy consumption of the server designing the model. This technology opens the way to more applications in the fields of connected objects and microcontrollers with integrated logic.

    MicroSERVER offers users the ability to remotely monitor and control programmed equipment. It has graphical capabilities and integrates curves and graphs to visualize and compare different data over time or between them. Many widgets are available to facilitate the customization of new supervision screens. They allow the visualization of data in different forms as well as to control a remote equipment by sending, for example, a command from the Switch widget.

    The prediction models developed by Sirea will inform users of future production and consumption to help them make decisions that will lead them to optimize their consumption by taking into account of the displayed forecasts.

    To do so, you simply need to collect and provide NeurEco with past production or consumption data, hour by hour or day by day, as well as meteorological data. The data is then processed to produce the results. After validation of these results, a model is then generated by the prediction server using the NeurEco tool.

    The model can then be used by MicroSERVER to deliver energy management recommendations based on the estimated forecasts. The delivered indications will guide users to optimize their energy consumption and reduce their carbon footprint.

    The prediction models are specific to each use case. Companies can use the predictions to organize and modulate their production schedules by taking into account the specific consumption of each machine or schedule operational tasks at the most favourable periods when solar energy is most available.

    The image below represents a graph of photovoltaic production of an AEA cabinet installed at a private home. As we can observe, over a period from June 10, 2022 to June 18, 2022, the calculated consumption predictions are remarkably accurate. The light blue curve represents the user’s prediction curve, which remarkably follows the dark blue curve that represents the real values of the site.

    Thanks to its predictions, MicroSERVER by NeurEco will encourage users to improve their energy sobriety by helping them to better plan their uses and contribute to improving the energy performance of the controlled installations.

    Our first photovoltaic shelter is out of the factory!

    Before your eyes, the first photovoltaic shelter entirely designed by Sirea! It will be able to accommodate 1.6 tons of batteries.

    This shelter was delivered to a self-consumption photovoltaic installation in the Lyon region, consisting of 100 kWp of photovoltaic energy (i.e. 250 solar panels) and 108 kWh of batteries (i.e. 1.6 tons).

    It was made possible thanks to the industrial machinery financed in part by the Occitanie region (South of France) in order to support the development of our mechanical activity.

    Our client chose this storage shelter in particular because the inverters have a dedicated and ventilated space, because the second life batteries are also integrated into the shelter and because this product is itself made in France.

    Straight from our factory in Castres (Occitanie), this project illustrates the capacity of our mechanical team to provide customised industrial solutions produced in France.

    Improved performance on our energy monitoring applications

    Versions 1.10 of MyHome&me and 1.18 of MySmartEMS&me have just been deployed to all our customers. This is a major upgrade for these two monitoring applications which brings much needed performance improvements, especially for energy balances.

    Indeed, private individuals equipped with an AEA cabinet can now consult a periodic energy balance for the day, month or year with MyHome&me. This includes the self-consumption rate and the coverage rate, but also the total photovoltaic production, the global consumption, the network extraction or the total quantity of stored/unstored energy.

    The same applies to our business customers equipped with a SmartEMS or AEH cabinet, who have access to a detailed energy balance of their infrastructure through the MySmartEMS&me interface. This includes data similar to MyHome&me, but also the distribution of electrical consumption measured on the site (such as air-conditioning, electric vehicle charging stations, servers) as well as a comparison with the theoretical solar production.

    With their new version, both applications offer their users significantly improved performance to display monthly and annual energy balances in less than 2 seconds.

    Since the cabinet obtained the Solar Impulse label in May 2022, it has been highlighted in the new action of Bertrand Piccard’s environmental association.

    The “Prêt à Voter” initiative aims to take clean technologies as a starting point to guide the modernization of the legal and regulatory framework in France. Indeed, according to the foundation, the success of the ecological transition depends more on creating conditions allowing the present technologies to be adopted so as to fully enjoy their perks than on developing new ones.

    This way, the Solar Impulse foundation chose 50 solutions within the 1400 labeled ones, in order to help the political decision makers to adapt the norms and standards that will promote the clean and efficient solutions market needed to protect the environment.

    The Sirea’s AEA cabinet has been selected to illustrate a law proposition promoting individual self-consumption with battery storage.

    The many advantages of this type of solution, namely the recycled batteries to store the energy excess in a self consumption system made in France, make the AEA cabinet the perfect choice to democratize solar self consumption at home while caring for sustainable development.

    Thursday june 30th we received an IoT Award for our SmartEMS EVCI, the energy management system enabling us to control the complex process of recharging multiple electrical vehicles simultaneously.

    The entire team is extremely happy to receive this award. We have been developing IoT solutions for many years for the industry and the energy transition, this reward confirms that we are on the right path.

    SmartEMS made for electric vehicle charging infrastructure (EVCI) has been designed to solve the issues linked to multiple charging points. It doesn’t only target parking lots and collectif real-estate but also hotels, restaurants and even recreational facilities. Thanks to this device, it is possible to dynamically control loads to prevent companies and communities from upgrading their contracted grid power. It also allows the prioritization of the use of renewable energy sources, such as photovoltaic energy, in order to reduce electricity bills, a major topic to come with the future electrification of the automobile fleet.

    Due to the end of thermic vehicle sales in 2035 in Europe, the issue of smart management of electric vehicles recharge becomes crucial for organizations looking to install charging points. A solution like the SmartEMS answers both the issues of logistics and energy transition.

    Following the success of our trial project, we started to install the energy management system EVCI for our customers. The last one was installed in mai 2022 in Aveyron (South of France), on the site of SDEL Rouergue, controls to charging points of 22kW each.

    Integrated in a AEH cabinet, the Made in France SamrtEMS also manages a 24 kWp photovoltaic shading system as well as a recycled batteries storage of 36 kWh capacity. The managing system makes it possible to fast charge two vehicles at the same time without upgrading the contracted grid power.

    To help companies to go further in their IoT strategy dedicated to energy efficiency, we designed on the same idea the SmartEMS AAC for self-consumption control and SmartEMS BAR to assist the management of storage systems with batteries.

    The Solar Impulse foundation has recently given our AEA cabinets the “Solar Impulse Efficient Solution” label, they are dedicated to self consumption with energy storage thanks to recycled batteries.

    Supported by Bertrand Piccard, the Solar Impulse Foundation has been identifying and promoting efficient and clean solutions for a few years. In 2020, it labeled our energy management system dedicated to controlled self-consumption, SmartEMS. In April, our solar self-consumption cabinet range for the household sector was also labeled !

    It is a strong certification that translates our will to make the users actors of their consumption. With the latest progress in domotic, the AEA cabinet is even easier to include in a house equipped with solar panels.

    Indeed, we announced in April the availability of management features allowing our range of AEA cabinets to be compatible with a domotic lifestyle, in order for our customers to enjoy in the most suitable way their energy storage.

    As a reminder, the AEA cabinet range is able to store from 3 to 18 kWh worth of storage depending on the model, thanks to batteries issued from electric transportation recycled by our partner Phenix Batteries.

    Our cabinets deliver between 3, 5 and 10 kW and they have a “backup” option in case of a grid failure. The range also allows a full energetic independence for buildings not connected to the grid thanks to the “offgrid” model.

    In addition to the Solar Impulse label, our next goal is the Origine France Garantie label in order to ensure the traceability of the cabinet’s components origins.

    Every year we achieve to integrate components made in France and in the region of Occitanie in our cabinets, through local partners or by internalizing some production process. This approach should help us to get the OFG certification in the near future for other products of the range.

    To this day, Sirea is the only French constructor of self-consumption cabinets with energy storage to have a model with the Origine France Garantie certification, and this since 2019.

    Home automation: AEA cabinets become compatible with Tuya Smart Life

    After several months of development, we are proud to announce the opening of our products’ energy control functionalities to the world of IoT and home automation.

    Home automation has grown significantly in recent years. According to this Statista synthesis (graph below), in 2020, more than half of the turnover generated on the IoT market for private individuals will be devoted to the « smart home ». Indeed, the integration of connected objects in everyday life allows them to replace everyday gestures (opening and closing shutters or electric gates), but also to reduce energy consumption (managing heating or lighting according to the weather).

    But today, with the rising cost of electricity, the ecosystem is moving towards other indicators to perfect energy control: the price of electricity, for example, when it is cheaper, during off-peak hours, but also availability, when the house has a renewable energy production source.

    This is the case with photovoltaic energy, which is all the more interesting when the production is coupled with a storage system, as we propose with our self-consumption cabinets with second life batteries. They include an energy manager that controls the inverter and the storage, and with which it is possible to communicate via WiFi.

    Thus, it becomes easy for the user to control appliances according to the energy produced or stored, in order to avoid extracting it from the electrical network. It is in this perspective that we have just announced the opening of access to the control functionalities of the AEA range of cabinets.

    We want to differentiate ourselves from the proprietary solutions that exist on the market today, by offering an open, inexpensive and user-customisable solution. This is exactly the difference between Windows and Linux.

    For the launch, customers who already own an AEA cabinet and have signed up to MyHome&me can now set triggers and actions via Tuya’s free Smart Life platform. It is now possible to switch off an air conditioning system when photovoltaic production becomes too low, or to transfer the energy stored in the cabinet to their electric vehicle, via the Alexa assistant or a Google Home.

    Following the official announcement on 10 May 2021, 36 new projects have been selected as part of the (Re)localising section of the France Recovery Plan. Among these winning projects, 13 of them, including Sirea, are part of the « Electronics » sector, one of the 5 strategic sectors defined by the recovery plan.

    The objective of the financial support granted by France Relance is to reinforce national industrial sovereignty through SMEs/SMIs carrying innovative and strategic projects. This is why Sirea’s « AMI_S » project has been selected.

    To officially inaugurate this new facility, we had the pleasure of welcoming several local and regional actors, including the sub-prefect Mr François PROISY, the deputy of the Tarn ((France) Jean TERLIER, as well as Claude LE GLOAHEC of the CCI of the Tarn representing Michel BOSSI, director of the CCI of the Tarn, to Sirea on Friday 21 May.

    The objective of the AMI_S project is to develop a new product: a technical energy conversion brick dedicated to renewable energies that will make it possible to condition any format of electrical energy and convert it into storable energy.

    This product has multiple applications: it will act as a regenerative power converter to restore dissipated or lost energy, but also as a power converter between energy sources of different nature and voltage. It will also improve the power factor and the quality of the electrical energy delivered.

    This electric power converter can be used in the fields of energy efficiency, energy saving, power supply to isolated sites, self-consumption, smart-grids and for all types of installations and equipment requiring adaptations and voltage control of energy sources mixing different levels and nature of voltage and current.

    A use case illustration: When you stop a large fan, its high inertia will keep its rotary movement off the power supply for a few minutes, until it stops completely. With our inverter, the energy generated by the motor during its slowing down phase can be recovered and used again. The motor thus becomes a generator throughout its deceleration phase.

    This project will involve the recruitment of about ten employees throughout the programme!
